Patsy Porco

The name of my blog, “Patsy Porco’s Blog: Free and Worth It!” came about through creativity and theft. One of my favorite authors, Lawrence Block, had a newsletter that he used to mail out to subscribers. The newsletter’s tagline was, “Free and worth every penny.” I suspect that he repurposed that phrase from the title of a book he read, about pulp writers, which I think was called, A Penny A Word and Worth It! I took 1 – 3 words from Block’s phrase and 1 – 3 words from the book’s title, and came up with my blog title. It was only a matter of time before someone did.

I am a copy editor in New York City. I live in Norwalk, CT, with my purebred husband, and my mixed-breed son and dog.

I read all kinds of fiction, have been chewing nicotine gum for more than two decades, and nap daily, sometimes more.
